It's time to ask...
For the last three years, Andrew and Michelle have been making bone broth and other traditional, prepared foods in an effort to spread the word of ancestral wisdom in diet and to help folks have better lives. With a focus on ethical sourcing, we've connected with local ranchers and farmers who practice holistic land management, and sell directly to customers at Monterey and Santa Cruz County farmer's markets. We find meaning and purpose in being part of the nutrition revolution that is finally making a dent in the broken American food paradigm. Big Food, Big Ag and Big Pharma have hijacked our kitchen tables and sickened our populace. We are just getting started, but more products will mean more hands and more equipment- we have gotten this far on our own, but now we need your help to grow and spread the word.
We've started a GoFundMe in our effort to grow. Here is the link to how you might contribute financially:
Our asks are straight-forward but by no means small or easy.
- Continue to support us.
In just three years' time, we've made regular customers and many good friends who return time and again to top off broth or pâté at our market stand. This has been a most fulfilling experience for us. We provide nourishing, healing foods to those who both already know and those curious to learn why the diets of our ancestors are a better choice than the processed foods of today. Please continue to support us. Continue to choose foods that are ethically and locally-sourced, made fresh, and delivered directly to you, in a sustainable manner that is both considerate and cost-effective.
2. Our own commercial kitchen space.
We need our own space, plain and simple- to spread our wings and make more of what we want and what we all need. Our current commercial kitchen has gotten us this far, and we are grateful for it, but we need more- more square footage, more equipment, and more hours in the day... and night.
3. All hands on deck.
It's been a two-man show for the most part, Andrew and at various points, Michelle or our apprentice Esteban. We need more hands. Both paid employees and volunteers. Our Berkeley model, and Andrew's point of entry into this world, Three Stone Hearth, drew much interest from the Bay Area community. Many of these folks would share their recipes and experience, and volunteer their time to help in the kitchen. A rewarding and fulfilling experience for everyone. Taking home food was just one of the perks!
4. A reliable, dependable work van.
Greysha, our workhorse Sequoia, has given her all but she's on her last legs. We are in need a reliable, dependable means of transporting our products, to markets and for special order deliveries.
5. An eventual storefront.
Every small business dreams of a place to call home. A storefront, a retail shop, a brick-and-mortar, where all can meet and all products are available. We envision the shop in front, the cookery in back, and kitchen tables all around. Classes on offer, bookshelves galore, and reach-in fridges and freezers stocked with ready-made foods.
